Welcome to Mile High Mitts!
Mile High Mitts is here to provide simple baking recipes, to empower you to feel confident about your baking, at any altitude!
Mile High Mitts started in May of 2018 to share my recipes with other people who wanted to bake something homemade themselves, but faced the challenge of baking in high altitude and/or gluten-free.
Baking doesn’t have to be hard, even at high altitude. And gluten-free baking doesn’t have to be hard either! I’m here to help you start baking all those recipes on pinterest you keep pinning, instead of just pinning them!
I’m Chelsea, the Mom wearing the Mitts 😉
I grew up in a classic Midwestern household, helping my mom cook and bake in the kitchen since I was old enough to stand up on a step-stool. I was raised on home-cooked meals, with that classic, meat and potatoes vibe. Homemade pizza and cookies were regular occurrences in our house.
I love sharing healthy breakfast recipes, fun drinks, and decadent desserts.
Some of my personal favorite recipes are:
Carrot Coconut Oat Muffins (gluten-free, flourless, sugar-free)
Banana Bread (gluten-free option, high altitude option)
Cinnamon Sugar Roasted Nut Granola (gluten-free)
“Mile High Mitts” was named Mile High after Colorado.
While I grew up as an Army brat, Colorado has been my home for over ten years now and I am totally in love with it. My husband is a Colorado native, my bearded mountain man, and is what I like to call my Swiss army knife. If you need anything, he’s got your back!
I have two kids, under 4, who keep me pretty busy on the day-to-day. My favorite things include eating (duh!), puns, sarcasm, hiking, hot drinks and movies.
Oh, and why Mile High Mitts? Well, I’m not sure I could go a day without using my oven mitts!
Thank you for checking out Mile High Mitts. I hope you and your family enjoy my recipes as much as my family does!
